Ventilated FIBCs use woven or selectively ventilated polypropylene fabric to permit air movement around suitable agricultural products. They are commonly considered for products such as potatoes, onions, firewood and similar goods where airflow during handling and storage is beneficial.

Ventilation does not replace correct harvesting, curing, temperature control or storage management. The amount and arrangement of open fabric must balance airflow with product retention, bag strength and protection throughout filling, transport and discharge.

Ventilation and Product Compatibility

The selected fabric construction depends on product size, surface characteristics, target load and the airflow required. Openings must retain the product without creating unacceptable abrasion, leakage or local stress in the bag body.

Ventilated FIBCs are not moisture barriers and are generally unsuitable where dust containment or protection from humid outside air is the primary requirement. Storage conditions, journey duration and seasonal temperature changes should be reviewed before the specification is confirmed.

Custom Handling and Filling Options

Dimensions, lifting loops, open-top or filling design, flat or discharge bottom, fabric pattern, printing and label positions can be adapted to the operation. The target safe working load and safety factor must be supported by testing for the final construction.

Provide the product, average piece size, bulk density, moisture condition, target weight, pallet size, filling method, storage duration and transport route. Product trials may be advisable where airflow, dehydration, condensation or surface damage is critical.

Custom Production and International Orders

Ventilation pattern, dimensions, lifting loops and closures are customized to the packed product and handling route. Minimum order quantity varies by construction. Production lead time and container-loading options depend on the bag type, order quantity and international delivery plan.

Related options: review standard FIBC bulk bags and select compatible filling and discharge configurations.
