An FIBC cannot be described as suitable for dangerous goods simply because it is strong or fitted with a liner. The substance, physical form, packing group, transport mode and jurisdiction must first be identified, after which an approved and correctly marked packaging design type can be selected.
The UN Model Regulations place flexible IBC requirements within the IBC construction, testing and marking system. Woven-plastic FIBC designations include 13H1 without coating or liner, 13H2 coated, 13H3 with liner and 13H4 coated and with liner. The correct code does not by itself authorize every substance.
Approval, Testing and Marking
A dangerous-goods FIBC must conform to an approved design type and be manufactured under the required quality-assurance programme. Applicable design-type testing and periodic controls depend on the construction and regulations. The UN marking communicates defined information such as the packaging type, packing-group capability, manufacture date, country and approval identifiers, stacking test load and maximum permissible gross mass.
Approval is specific to the tested design and its authorized conditions. Changing fabric, dimensions, seams, liner, closures or other critical components can affect conformity and must be controlled within the approval system.
Information Needed Before Quotation
Provide the proper shipping name, UN number, hazard class, packing group, material state and particle characteristics, target net mass, transport modes and destination countries. The applicable ADR, RID, IMDG Code or other national and modal requirements must also be identified by the shipper or dangerous-goods specialist.
Final suitability, permitted contents, marking and documentation must be verified against the current approval and transport rules. No website description or product photograph replaces the dangerous-goods classification and packaging approval documents.

Production lead time and container-loading options depend on the bag type, approval requirements, order quantity and international transport plan.
