Mineral products vary widely in bulk density, particle size, abrasiveness, moisture content and flow behaviour. A mining FIBC therefore needs to be developed around the actual material and handling route rather than selected from a generic weight claim.
Applications can include ores, concentrates, industrial minerals, aggregates, powders and granules. Fabric, seams, loops, coating, liner and filling or discharge design are selected according to the product, target load, dust-control needs and equipment.
Design Considerations for Mineral Products
High bulk density can require a smaller bag volume while placing significant loads on the body, seams and lifting system. Coarse or angular particles may increase abrasion and puncture risk. Fine powders may require coated fabric, sift-resistant seams or a suitable liner, while moisture-sensitive products may need a defined barrier system.
Filling rate, aeration, settling and discharge behaviour also affect the design. A stable filled geometry, suitable pallet footprint and compatibility with forklifts, cranes, frames and transport containers should be reviewed before dimensions are fixed.
From Product Data to Bag Specification
Send the product safety data where relevant, bulk density range, particle-size distribution, moisture, temperature, target net mass, filling method, discharge method, lifting arrangement and transport route. State whether the product is dangerous, electrostatically sensitive or subject to special contamination controls.
The safe working load, safety factor and any stacking statement must be supported by the selected construction and its test documentation. Outdoor exposure and long-term storage require separate review because weather and ultraviolet radiation can affect FIBC performance.
Custom Production and International Orders
Bag volume, fabric, seams, lifting system, barrier and discharge design are customized to the mineral product and handling route. Minimum order quantity varies by construction. Production lead time and container-loading options depend on the bag type, order quantity and international delivery plan.
Related options: review dustproof seams and sewing, FIBC inner liners, and filling and discharge configurations.
